Applications to Volunteer to Act as Scrutineers for Other Voting

The Regional Board intends to submit the following question and bylaw for vote on Saturday, March 26, 2011.

Bylaw No. 1616 Referendum Question

"Are you in favour of "Nanoose Bay Fire Protection Service Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 1616, 2011", which if approved, would authorize the Regional District of Nanaimo to borrow up to $3.2 million to demolish the current fire hall and construct a new fire hall at 2471 Nanoose Road, Nanoose Bay, BC?"
Applications to volunteer to act as scrutineers (not paid positions) for voting with respect to this question, will be received at the offices of the Regional District of Nanaimo at 6300 Hammond Bay Road, Nanaimo, B.C. between Monday, February 28, 2011 and Wednesday, March 9, 2011 and during that period, the applications shall only be received during regular office days and hours excluding holidays. Only applications from individuals entitled to vote as electors within the Nanoose Bay Fire Protection Service area (Electoral Area E and portions of Electoral Areas F & G) can be considered. Please note that the number of scrutineers at each voting place is limited to two, one for the "yes" side and one for the "no" side.
