Agricultural Advisory Committee

The Board of the Regional District of Nanaimo is seeking applications for appointments to the Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC) for a two year term.

The primary role of the AAC is to advise the Board on agricultural issues as they relate to policy documents including the Regional Growth Strategy, Rainwater Management Plans and Noxious Weed Control. The AAC will also help promote public awareness of the importance of agriculture as an economic driver.

The Board of the Regional District is now accepting applications from the following sectors:

  • Regional Agricultural Organizations - 2 members
  • Shellfish Aquaculture Organizations - 1 member
  • General Public - (2 north, 2 south) - 4 members
Residents who wish to participate as members on this volunteer committee are invited to obtain a "Board Appointment Application Form" from the Corporate Services Department of the Regional District of Nanaimo, 6300 Hammond Bay Road, Nanaimo. A copy of the Board application form and the Terms of Reference are also available on the RDN web site at www.rdn.bc.ca.

In order to be considered, completed application forms must be submitted to the Regional District of Nanaimo Administration Offices, 6300 Hammond Bay Road by 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2009.
