The Regional District of Nanaimo Toilet Replacement Rebate Program (for RDN Electoral Area property owners only) has been very successful. The 2010 program has ended effective August 25 at noon as funds are now completely depleted. Applications received after this date will be held on a first-come first-serve basis for processing in 2011, pending approval by the RDN Board.
Have you been thinking about replacing your toilet?
Receive money back, and reduce your water use with the Regional District of Nanaimo's toilet replacement rebate program.
Many buildings are equipped with older toilets that require 13 litres or more of water per flush. New low flow toilets require only 6 litres per flush and dual flush toilets use either 3 or 6 litres. By taking advantage of the toilet replacement rebate program, you could use up to one-third less water! That could save more than 200 litres per day or 80,000 litres per year.
The Regional District of Nanaimo is offering a maximum of two (2) rebates per property. If you replace a toilet that uses 13 litres or more per flush with a CSA approved new low flow model, or if you replace a low flow model with a dual flush or high efficiency toilet, you may be eligible for a rebate of $50 for each regular low flow (6 litre) toilet or $75 for each dual flush (3 litre and 6 litre) or high efficiency (4.8 litre or less) toilet.
