A Public Information Meeting will be held Monday, October 3, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Oceanside Place (upstairs multi-purpose room) 830 Island Highway West concerning the zoning amendment application affecting the property located at 846 Island Highway West in Electoral Area 'G', legally described as That part of District Lot 87, Lying to the West of Pym Road, Except Parcels B (DD 4389N) and C (DD 9872N) of Said District Lot and Except that part in Plans 14729, 50690, VIP60116 and VIP64801 (see location map below).
The applicant proposes to rezone the subject property from Residential 1 (RS1) Zone (one dwelling unit per parcel) to Comprehensive Development Zone (CD51), under the "Regional District of Nanaimo Land use and Subdivision Bylaw No. 500, 1987", to allow the development of approximately twenty (20) multiple dwelling units. The proposed development features two-bedroom units, approximately 121 m2 in floor area with single car garages.
The purpose of the Public Information Meeting is to introduce the proposed change in parcel density and to invite comments from the public regarding this application. Please note this is not a Public Hearing. A summary of the comments received at this meeting will be provided to the Electoral Area Services Committee and Regional Board as part of the application review process.
