A Public Information Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 6:00 pm at Extension Community Hall located at 2140 Ryder Street, Nanaimo for the property located on Parcel Z, Midora Road and Virostko Road, Electoral Area â€˜Câ€™, legally described as Parcel Z (DD K83923) Section 13, Range 1 and Sections 12 and 13, Range 2, Cranberry District, Except That Part In Plan VIP86100 (see location map below).
The applicant proposes to rezone a portion of the subject property lying within the Village Centres land use designation from CD 19 (comprehensive Development 19) to RS2 J (Residential 2 Subdivision District J) in order to facilitate a subdivision of the subject property from the parent property (see map below). The permitted uses in the RS2 Zone are dwelling unit, secondary suite and home-based business. Based on the size of the proposed lot, the zoning would permit two dwelling units and two suites.
The purpose of the Public Information Meeting is to introduce the applicantâ€™s proposal to rezone property from CD19 to RS2 Zone and Subdivision District â€˜jâ€™ to invite comments from the public regarding this proposal. Please note this is not a Public Hearing. A summary of the comments received at this meeting will be provided to the Electoral Area Services Committee and Regional Board as part of the application review process.
