Effective signage is important to the local economy, is a public safety factor and can strengthen community identity and pride. The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) has become aware of concerns related to directional signage, economic development signage, and wayfinding signage in the Electoral Areas. In response, staff have been directed to proceed with the Rural Area Signage Project and consultation plan by the Regional Board.
The RDN has now initiated a public consultation process to identify barriers to effective signage in rural areas. The Rural Area Signage Project is intended to identify rural signage concerns and reduce potential impediments to effective signage.
We are interested in your feedback to help improve the effectiveness of signage in rural areas of the RDN. Please consider taking a few minutes to provide valuable input through participation in our online questionnaire by clicking on the link below. All questionnaire participants will have an opportunity to enter their name into a draw to win a $50 gift card to the grocery store of their choice.
