A Public Information Meeting will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 6:30 pm at Nanoose Place Community Centre located at 2925 Northwest Bay Road concerning the Development Permit with Variance Application No. PL2016-188 and proposed amendments to the Lakes District and Schooner Cove Phased Development Agreement (PDA) affecting the properties located at 3521 Dolphin Drive in Electoral Area 'E', legally described as Lot 1, District Lot 78, Nanoose District and District Lots 2085, 2086, 2087, 2088, and 2089 Nanaimo District, Plan VIP87121 and District Lot 2084, Nanaimo District (see location map below).
If approved, this development permit with variance would allow the existing building to be repurposed to include 11 dwelling units and a range of commercial uses and would also allow the construction of a six-storey residential building containing 39 dwelling units and a minor commercial component as proposed. If approved, the owner would be required to provide a range of community amenities as outlined by the PDA. Minor amendments to the PDA are required to address changes to the development proposal that were not originally envisioned by the PDA.
The purpose of the Public Information Meeting is to present the proposal and invite comments from the public regarding the application, proposed variances, and PDA amendment. Please note this is not a Public Hearing. A summary of the comments received at this meeting will be provided to the Electoral Area Services Committee and Regional Board as part of the application review process.
