The applicant proposes to rezone a portion of the subject property zoned Agricultural 1 (AG1) to allow the conversion of an existing dwelling unit to an office, staff lunchroom and urn storage building as an accessory use to the cemetery and funeral home use permitted in the portion of the land directly north and zoned Public 1 (PU1) under the "Regional District of Nanaimo Land Use and Subdivision Bylaw No. 500, 1987".
The purpose of the Public Information Meeting is to introduce the proposed change in land use and to invite comments from the public regarding this application. Please note this is not a Public Hearing. A summary of the comments received at this meeting will be provided to the Electoral Area Services Committee and Regional Board as part of the application review process.
