Request for Expressions of Interest

Coastal First Nations Art Installation - RDN Administration Building

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is situated within the traditional territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation, the Snaw-Naw-As First Nation and the Qualicum First Nation, each of which has villages and other lands under their jurisdiction in the region; as well as the Stz'uminus First Nation, Hupa?asath First Nation and K'ómoks First Nation, whose traditional territory extends into the Regional District of Nanaimo.

In recognition of that, the RDN is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from British Columbia artists or artist teams for original work to express respect for the Indigenous cultures and traditions of this land, to tell the story of a shared future built on understanding and cooperation, and to reveal the RDN as a place that creates opportunities for community, inclusion and collaboration.

Responding to this Expression of Interest is the first of two stages in the selection of an artist or artist team. Up to three artist or artist teams will be invited to proceed to the second stage of the process in which a more detailed proposal will be requested.

Closing

To be considered, Expressions of Interest must be received at by 2:00 p.m., Pacific Time, on November 10, 2017. All submissions must be clearly marked with:
