Public Notice - End of Trail Closures

Trails Re-open as Fire Risk Diminishes

Effective September 17, 2018, the Regional District of Nanaimo is re-opening the Trans Canada Trail and the Arrowsmith CPR Regional Trail for use by hikers, cyclists and equestrians. Landowner Island Timberland has determined that early September rains have reduced wildfire risk in the back country and the company is once again permitting recreational use of its private lands.

Keep apprised of access to private forest lands by following the Island Timberlands Blog at blog.islandtimberlands.com.

To report a wildfire call 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 on most cellular networks.
