Pursuant to Section 464(2) and 467 of the Local Government Act, the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) advises that the requirement for a public hearing has been waived in connection with proposed bylaw “Regional District of Nanaimo Land Use and Subdivision Amendment Bylaw No. 500.425, 2019” (“Bylaw 500.425”). This waiver is because an Official Community Plan applies to the area that is subject to Bylaw No. 500.425 and the RDN Board of Directors considers Bylaw No. 500.425 to be consistent with “Regional District of Nanaimo Electoral Area ‘H’ Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 1335, 2017”.
Purpose of Proposed Bylaw?
The purpose of Bylaw 500.425 is to amend the Lighthouse Villa Comprehensive Development Zone 52 (CD52) by removing the requirement that seniors housing must be serviced by community sewer.
Where can I inspect the Bylaw?
A copy of the amendment bylaw and Board resolution waiving the Public Hearing, and other relevant documents may be inspected at the RDN Administration offices, 6300 Hammond Bay Road, Nanaimo, BC, Monday to Friday, with extended business hours until 5:30pm on Wednesdays, from the date off this notice to the date of the Board meeting.
