Winter Wonderland Bus is on the Move

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is running the Winter Wonderland bus for the month of December. It will make its official debut at the Nanaimo Lions Christmas Parade, which will be held in downtown Nanaimo on Saturday, November 30, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

During the Christmas season, the bus will tour the region, making special appearances at shopping centres, recreational facilities and elementary schools throughout the Regional District of Nanaimo.

When visiting elementary schools, the bus and its special helpers will welcome students onboard. Students will have the opportunity to become familiar with the layout of the RDN’s buses and learn the importance of bus safety. Last year, 15 schools got to share in the festive spirit with a visit from the Winter Wonderland bus.

For the month of December, the Winter Wonderland bus will be collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations at transit exchanges. All donations will be given to the Nanaimo Loaves and Fishes and the Parksville Food Bank.
