South Wellington School Lease Alternative Approval Process

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) and Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools (SD68) have agreed in principle to a 25-year lease of the South Wellington School site. The lease would allow for the former school and the surrounding property to be operated as a community center. Due to the length of the lease, consent from the electors of Electoral Area A must be sought through the Alternative Approval Process before the lease can be completed.
