Notice of First Reading - Zoning Amendment Application No. PL2022-014

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) advises that a Public Hearing is not being held for proposed “Regional District of Nanaimo Land Use and Subdivision Amendment Bylaw No. 500.437, 2022” (Bylaw 500.437). A Public Hearing is not required because an Official Community Plan (OCP) applies to the area that is subject to Bylaw 500.437 and the RDN Board considers Bylaw 500.437 to be consistent with the OCP. The purpose of Bylaw 500.437 is to rezone the property located at 2875 Craven Close from Rural 1 (RU1), Subdivision District ‘B’ (8.0-hectare minimum parcel size) to RU1 zone, Subdivision District ‘CC’, (4.0-hectare minimum parcel size) to facilitate a two-lot subdivision. 

The RDN Board intends to consider the First Reading of Bylaw 500.437 on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 1 p.m.
