Wastewater Service Alert - French Creek Pollution Control Centre - Potential Odour Increase

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is performing maintenance and repair of the digesters and integrated odor control system at the French Creek Pollution Control Center (FCPCC) over the next several weeks. During this time, there may be elevated noise levels during work hours, an increase in the frequency of service and delivery trucks, and higher-than-normal odours. No excessive odor emissions have been detected to date. With the onset of unseasonably warm weather over the coming days, higher-than-normal odours from the facility may occur until temperatures return to seasonal levels.
