Welcome to the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) Transit System
We serve the region from Electoral Area A (Cedar/Nanaimo Airport) in the south of the RDN, to Electoral Area H (Bowser/Deep Bay) in the north, including the City of Nanaimo, District of Lantzville, City of Parksville, Town of Qualicum Beach and Electoral Areas include A, C, E, G, and H, as well as surrounding rural areas.
The RDN Transit System provides both Conventional (Scheduled Transit) and Custom transit (handyDART) services. It is an integrated system offering service in urban centres, rural areas and interregional connections.
In addition to local routes, the RDN Transit System includes interregional service:
- Route 70 NCX Nanaimo - Cowichan Express connects downtown Nanaimo with downtown Duncan in the south, with options to further connect with Victoria via Route 66 CVX Cowichan – Victoria Express.
- Route 99 Deep Bay links the RDN with the Comox Valley Regional District via Route 10 Fanny Bay - Deep Bay, providing a seamless connection for travel between regions.
Our network ensures dedicated access to major transit Hubs, shopping, educational and recreational facilities, supporting mobility across communities in central Vancouver Island.
