Electoral Areas
There are seven Electoral Areas in the Regional District of Nanaimo. These Electoral Areas are made up of unincorporated communities on the central east coast of Vancouver Island. In these communities, the RDN is responsible for administration, local governance and local services. One locally elected Director represents each Electoral Area on the Regional Board.
If you live in an Electoral Area, you only pay for the services the RDN provides your Area. Some services in Electoral Areas are funded by the RDN but provided by another agency. You can learn more about the services the RDN provides to each Electoral Area on the pages below:
- Electoral Area F (encompasses Coombs, Hilliers, Errington, Whiskey Creek, and Meadowood)
- Electoral Area G (encompasses Englishman River, San Pareil, French Creek, Little Qualicum, and Dashwood)
- Electoral Area H (encompasses Bowser, Qualicum Bay, and Deep Bay)
