In this rapidly changing environment, please continue to check back here for solid waste disposal updates.
Please consider holding off on your visit to a Solid Waste Facility until after the COVID-19 crisis subsides. Curbside Collection Customers can find updates on service here.
Hours of operation remain the same at this time. In order for staff to follow best practices for social distancing and reduce staff/customer interaction, the following measures have been put in place:
Only debit, Visa and Mastercard or approved accounts payments are accepted, no cash.
Commercial Traffic is being given priority at both facilities.
Keep a distance of 2m (6ft) between staff and other customers.
OPEN BURNING BAN IN EFFECT UNTIL JUNE 15
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy issued an OPEN BURNING BAN in effect until June 15 due to respiratory concerns related to COVID19. Category 2 and 3 fires are NOT PERMITTED in high smoke sensitivity zones across BC at this time.
We are working hard to protect our staff and the public at both the Regional Landfill and Church Road Transfer Station during these unprecedented times.
With the open burning ban in effect, if you have yard and garden waste to dispose of, please consider the following options:
Storing it until the emergency ban is lifted
Mulch or compost
