As of September 25, 2025, Canada Post workers went on strike, impacting nation-wide service delivery. Per Canada Post’s update, mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees are suspended for items already in the postal network.
Due to the ongoing postal strike, mail ballot voting is currently on hold. The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is actively working to identify a feasible alternative to ensure all eligible RDN Electoral Area F voters for the French Creek School and Parkland Purchase referendum have as many opportunities as possible to participate during the strike. In-person voting remains unaffected.
