Vendors are advised the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) plans to negotiate and direct award a supply agreement with Great West Equipment for the provision of a used 2012 or 2013 Volvo AF30 Rock Truck for its Landfill operations in Nanaimo, B.C.
The estimated value of the supply agreement will be greater than $75,000.
The RDN wishes to negotiate and direct award for the following reasons:
a) This class of vehicle is difficult to source within the budget available and condition desired and must be acted upon quickly to ensure supply.
b) A recent Request for Proposals was issued resulting in only one submission that was evaluated and deemed unacceptable.
Vendors wishing to challenge the RDN’s intention to negotiate and direct award a supply agreement with Great West Equipment must submit their objection, in writing, via email to the following person on, or before 3:00 p.m. PST on April 12, 2019:

Objections must be submitted on company letterhead and be signed by an individual authorized to represent the company submitting the objection. Vendors must clearly state the reasons why they believe they are qualified to supply the equipment that is being proposed to be direct awarded and why the equipment should be competitively tendered again.
The RDN retains the right to determine its future course of action depending on any responses received and to perform its due diligence as required prior to making a final decision.
