Partial Closure Continues on the Top Bridge Regional Trail

The section of trail in the vicinity of the Hwy 19 bridge over the Englishman River remains closed because work is not yet finished on the new water treatment plant and drinking water intake. The City of Parksville, on behalf of the Englishman River Water Service, advises that construction may not wrap up until mid- to late fall 2019. Before this section of Top Bridge Regional Trail can be re-opened, the RDN will need to establish a new piece of trail and install associated signage. Thank you for your patience.

For more information, contact RDN Parks at 250-248-4744, toll free 1-888-828-2069, or recparks [at] rdn.bc.ca (recparks[at]rdn[dot]bc[dot]ca).

After the Winter Windstorms

RDN Parks staff are continuing to assess all regional and community parks and trails throughout the region for downed trees and debris and continuing clean-up following recent storms. The assessment and clean-up process will continue through 2019. Where necessary for user safety, temporary closure signs have been posted and notices added to the RDN web site. Please respect all posted signs and do not enter until the notices have been removed.

In general, always use caution when entering wooded parks and trails if it is windy. Expect there may be debris on path surfaces and beware of branches shaken loose by the wind.
